Hi!

Hi, I'm J! A London girl amalgamating European style with American practicality.

Let's talk bunnies.

Let's talk bunnies.

We’ve been busy fostering rabbits! Meet Quince—the latest addition to our makeshift bunny halfway house. Just a baby, this Lionhead will have no problem being snatched up if his glamor shot is anything to go by.

Our fostering journey began a couple of months ago with the aim of socializing frightened and abandoned bunnies to help them become more “adoptable.” Partnering with the Red Door Animal Shelter in Chicago, we’re realizing that a break from their cramped living quarters really does make a world of difference.

I know what you’re thinking—is there really that much of a rabbit issue that they’re filling up shelters? With their fuzzy butts and their sweet personalities, you’d think they’d have no problem finding their forever homes, but sadly this isn’t the case. Their cute little faces do lure in the pet finders, but a lack of research combined with a misconception that these are “easy starter pets,” means more and more bunnies are being abandoned on the streets. Especially during this time of year.

They do make wonderful pets but they are also a lot more work than those adorable cheeks would have you think. As with all animal companions, do your research before add a Mr./Ms. Hops to your family.

And of course, always adopt and help save a life. Let’s not support the bunny/puppy/kitten mills out there.
